A two-year-old boy has been killed by an explosion at Apremdo in Takoradi on Wednesday afternoon.
The Western Regional Fire Command PRO, Emmanuel Bonney, told the media “the boy who was burnt into ashes was sleeping in one of the mobile money sales containers when the fire broke out.”
According to reports gathered by Salt 95.9 FM, the explosion was caused when three diesel tankers awaiting discharge caught fire.
It is still unknown what started the fire but personnel from the Ghana National Service who were at the scene to fight the fire are expected to begin investigations into causes of the inferno.
The fire also destroyed over seven container stores.
