US president Donald J. Trump has named his special envoy for the Sahel Region of Africa, Dr J. Peter Pham, to lead a delegation to attend the second inauguration of President Akufo-Addo.
President Akufo-Addo will be sworn in for a second term on Thursday, January 7 after winning the December 7 polls. He beat his closest rival, John Mahama of the NDC to retain hsi position as President of Ghana.
In a White House brief, Trump mentioned Stephanie S. Sullivan, United States Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana as a member of the delegation for the swearing-in ceremony.
The ceremony will take place at the precinct of Parliament due to the coronavirus pandemic.
