UCC student arrested by police for kidnapping SHS girl for 5 days
A student from the University of Cape Coast is currently in the grips of the Ghana Police after he was arrested for kidnapping an SHS student for five(5) days.
The suspect identified as Simeon Cephas Andoh Dadzie, 22, is a level 300 student of the University and his victim whose name has been withheld is an 18-year old student of Methodist Senior High School in Sekondi.
According to sources, the two meet on social media Facebook before Cephas lured the girl to his hostel.
Reports indicate that a group of angry youth who got leads about the development read through the Facebook conversations of the two individuals and concluded that the girl might be with the suspect.
They visited the Cape Coast University and the particular hostel. After meeting Cephas, the group indicated that he claimed no knowledge of the girl or her whereabouts.
The angry group went ahead to conduct a thorough search and found the girl in the washroom.
In their own words: “We moved from Sekondi to Cape Coast on Wednesday in the morning around 11am to UCC campus where upon our arrival, we were assisted by a lady alumnus of the University to the suspect’s hostel”.
“Upon our search in the room, we found the girl in the bathroom and quickly arrested the guy and brought him down to Sekondi and handed him over to the police,” the group added.
The victim had reportedly become very pale and is currently undergoing treatment.
The real reason for which Cephas lured the young girl was not stated and it has also not been mentioned whether he demanded any ransom or not.
