U/W: Immigration officers arrest 20 Burkinabes for entering Ghana illegally

20 Burkinabes have been arrested in the Upper West Region for using unapproved routes to enter the country.
It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo as a measure to curb the widespread of the Corona virus ordered the closure of all Ghanaian borders earlier in March.
The 20 Burkinabes were arrested by Immigration officers in the region on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. According reports, 18 were males and 2 females between the ages of 15 and 28.
They were said to be heading to Sampa, Techiman, and Kumasi respectively on board an O.A bus with registration number GR 6499.
They were seized at about 17:55 hours GMT by the vigilant Immigration Officials.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo in his 8th address to the nation said foreigners who enter the country illegally will be dealt with. He added Ghanaians who aided such persons will also be dealt with per the laws of the country.
