Try Traditional Medicine in COVID-19 fight – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that it is time to try out traditional medicine in the fight against the Coronavirus disease in Ghana.

“It is time to explore the role of alternative medicine and traditional remedies in the fight against the Coronavirus. Some traditional medicines are known to boost the immune system and can help both in the prevention of people succumbing to the disease and also play a role a palliative function in the management of persons suffering from COVID-19,” he said.

The former President said this when he donated food items to 20,000 households in areas that have been affected by the lockdown.

Scientist around the world are racing to find a cure or vaccine for the novel Corona Virus.

A recommended way to prevent contracting the virus is the frequent washing of hands, constant use of hand sanitizers as well as keeping hands off the face (Eyes, nose and mouth).

Health officials have also advised the intake of fruits and Vitamin C to help boost the immune system of individuals.
