Residents in the Ashanti Region are being forced to weed and sweep as punishment for not wearing face masks
Residents in the Ashanti Region who fail to comply with the madantatory wearing of face masks are being forced to render Community Service as Punishment.
This is a new form of punishment the police in the region have introduced to ensure strict compliance with the mandatory wearing of face mask directive.
The police team began the exercise on May 16 and most people who were caught without masks were made weed, sweep and clear gutters as punishment.
The police say in the coming weeks they will be ruthless with the exercise as more personnel will be deployed.
The Ashanti Region as at May 16, 2020, had recorded 818 cases being the second region with higher numbers of confirmed cases.
Ghana’s case count now stand at 5,735 with 1,754 recoveries and 29 deaths.
