Obinim still Locked up after allegedly failing to meet bail requirements

The Head Pastor of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim is  still in police custody after failing to meet his bail requirements.

Bishop Obinim has been charged with publication of false news and forgery of document contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offences Act, (1960) (ACT 29) respectively.

Head of Public Affairs of the CID, DSP Juliana Obeng confirmed Obinim was still in custody after failing to meet his bail requirements.

Obinim was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly publishing or the forging documents.

An Accra Magistrate Court subsequently granted him bail to the tune of ¢100,000 with three sureties with one person to be justified.

He is to appear in court on June 1 while investigations into other offences leveled against him continue.

The family are however claiming that they are ready to pay the money for his bail but police are frustrating them.
