NPP will be in trouble if Mahama returns in 2024 – Ben Ephson

Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch, Ben Ephson says the NPP will be in trouble if Mahama decided to lead the NDC in the 2024 general elections.

Ben Ephson who was speaking to the ongoing debate about who leads the NPP after Akufo-Addo said there is a need for the party to Fastrack the processes of electing a flagbearer.

He explained that if the NPP does not elect their flagbearer by 2022, there will be a problem because anyone who leads the party will only be riding on the successes of Akufo-Addo.

But when Mahama leads the NDC there will be no issues to raised because these issues were already raised in 2016 and 2020.

Speaking about the ethnic balance he believed if Bawumia leads the party he will likely pick a running mate from the Akans, that is Mathew Opoku Prempeh or Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu.

He has also advised members of the NPP who are interested in leading the party to make it known now.

According to him, making it known will get people talking to them and also getting sponsors down for the primaries and the general elections.
