3Music using a new format for it’s rising star category decided to make it regional using the original 10 regions of Ghana (We currently have 16 regions in Ghana), however, to the surprise of many, the Board merged the Northern Region with the Upper East and Upper West Regions, terming it the Northern Sector, however, the artists in the category all came from Tamale, the capital of the Northern Region leading to a public outcry.
