President Akufo-Addo says his government is committed to improving the road infrastructure in Ghana.
Speaking at his inaugural ceremony in Parliament earlier today, the President said more resources will be channeled into ensuring that there are good road networks across the country.
The President said he is aware of Ghana’s road deficit but they will put in more resources to ensure are roads are motorable.
“Our roads are been constructed at a much faster pace than before but I acknowledge there are many more kilometeres to construct. We defeined last year as year of roads this year will be the second year of roads, as we continue with our focus on dealing with the deficit in our road structure. The development of our Rail sector on which considerable resources are been devoted will open up the country and lead to the creation of a more connected society and will also help realize the goal of a regional integration”
President Akufo-Addo tagged the year 2020 as the “Year of Roads.”
According to him, his government would embark on an aggressive road development across Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo said roads are critical in the development of any nation and that the development of the much-touted roads under the previous administration was untrue.
