Mahama’s unprecedented infrastructural development was a fantasy that existed in the ‘Green book’ – Akufo-Addo
President Akufo-Addo at the Commissioning of the Tema-Motorway has taken a swipe at Former President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress for their constant claim that Akufo-Addo has on several occasions taken credit for projects started by former President Mahama.
The NDC prior to the commissioning of the motorway cautioned President Akufo-Addo not to commission the project without Mahama because he started the Project.
But reacting to this and several other claims by the minority, President Akufo-Addo said the NDC’s unprecedented infrastructural development was a fantasy.
“We made a pledge to Ghanaians to expand and improve the road networks while closing the missing links. We had to make this pledge because the so-called unprecedented infrastructure development of the Mahama administration was a fantasy and existed in the ‘Green book’ and not on the grounds. We know that provision of quality infrastructure is an essential tool for the development of our country and the government will ensure the even spread of such projects in the country”.
The NDC argues that, the NPP administration has consistently taken credit for strategic projects initiated by his predecessors especially, Mr Mahama.
They held a press conference on June 4, 2020, and chronicled the events leading to the completion of the Tema Motorway Interchange. According to them the project is a Japanese sponsored project the Mahama administration secured.
