More than 500 Ghanaians have died from the Coronavirus, officials say.
According to the data from the Ghana Health Service, eleven persons have died since the last update pushing the country’s death toll from 494 to 505.
790 new cases have also been recorded as at February 8, 2021, bringing the number of active cases to 7,509.
The report said out of 822, 643 samples tested since the outbreak was detected in March 12, 74,347 have so far returned positive with 66, 333 recoveries.
While 109 patients are severely ill, 28 others are said to be in critical condition and are being monitored by medics at various treatment centers.
Regional Breakdowns
Accra still leads the number of COVID-19 active cases with 3, 754 active cases while the Ashanti Region follows with 1, 353 active cases.
