Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has announced the suspension of all party campaigns following the death of the NDC’s founder, Jerry John Rawlings.
Mr. Mahama who is currently in the Ashanti Region for a campaign tour has suspended his tour in order for him to return to Accra.
Mahama in a Tweet announced: “I have announced the suspension of my tour of the Ashanti Region and all NDC campaigns across the country, following news of the passing of our Founder and former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings.
May his soul Rest In Peace.”
Former President, Jerry John Rawlings passed on in the early hours of Thursday, November 12, 2020, Ayt the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Sources close to the family confirmed his death to several media houses.
