Kotoka International Airport workers begin indefinite strike today

The Ghana Airport Company Limited’s Divisional Union of the Public Services Workers’ Union of the Trade Union Congress, has directed all general staff of the Kotoka International Airport to withdraw their services indefinitely starting today.

In a statement sighted by this website, the Union has accused the Company’s board of attempting to shelve the report of an investigative committee which allegedly confirms the Managing Director, Yaw Kwakwa is guilty of mismanagement and abuse of office.

According to the Union the only way to turn the fortunes of the Company around is to remove the Managing Director from his post.

They have therefore notified the public especially air operators of the withdrawal of their service.

Affected services include; screening of pre-board passengers and access control, fire/safety cover for all aircrafts, water and sewage treatment, and public announcement and flight display.
