I’m fighting for development for Agogo – Owusu Bempah

The Head of Corperate Communications for Ghana Gas, Ernest Owusu Bempah has called on residents of Asante Akyem Agogo to shy away from vile propaganda to allow for developments in the town.

Speaking to Akwasi Boduah in an interview on Salt 95.9 FM, the politician said many people are tagging him as selfish without any knowledge of efforts he is making to bring Asante Akyem North its own share of developments.

According to him plans are far advanced to construct an Astroturf in the Asante Akyem North municipality to help in recreation and development of sports in the municipality.

Mr Owusu Bempah believes this will go a long way to help the youth of the community and also provide employment opportunities.

Astroturf in Agogo

The communicator having received support from the Agogo Manhene, Nana Akuoku Sarpong and Agogo Hemaa, Nana Afrakuma Serwaa Kusi Oboadu cut sod for the construction of a regular size Astroturf for the people of Agogo about a month ago.

He has since after the sod cutting come under several criticisms and scrutiny by some residents.

The project which is scheduled to be completed in six months has not taken off yet due to some squatters refusing to vacate the allocated site for the construction.

Their reason according to Salt FM sources suggest some think Owusu Bempah wants to evict them so as to make way for construction of some stores for his perusal.

Ernest Owusu Bempah has however refuted those claims and is calling for all persons within the Asante Akyem North municipality to support the construction of the Astroturf facility since it will serve the entire municipality.

“If I am in a position to help my municipality, why would I not do so? I am doing this to help the entire municipality and not for my selfish gains” the politician added.

The firebrand politician donated six motor bikes, sacks of T-shirts, branded pens, 25 pieces of android phones, hand sanitizers and other items to the Asante Akyem North NPP office last year.
