Super bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogbe, has officially succumbed to defeat to his Mexican opponent days after the young Ghanaian boxing champion was thwarted in a fierce bout that resulted in Dogboe losing his WBO Super Bantamweight title to Mexican boxer Emanuel Navarette. It was his first ever defeat.
In a statement shared on social media, Isaac Dogboe expressed gratitude to the people of Ghana and fans for their support and blamed the defeat on his team “underestimating his opponent”.
“Team Dogboe has accepted defeat because we under estimated the Mexican Emanuel Navarette. We have learnt from this experience and we WILL come back stronger. God Bless you all and thank you to everyone who has Supported us.” he wrote on Twitter.

This statement comes hours after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo also shared a post on Twitter to encourage Isaac Dogbe to be confident and stay focused despite his brutish loss last Saturday.
“Better luck next time to the Royal Storm, Isaac Dogboe. I am confident you’ll bounce back even stronger. Keep your head up,” President Akufo-Addo tweeted.
