GPL: We’re not in the league to win the title – Legon Cities’ Chief Scout

Former black stars defender John Paintsil has revealed that his current club Legon Cities are not aiming at winning the Ghana premier league 2020-21

In an extensive interview with the host for Salt Fire Sports (95.9 fm), Dennis Asamoah , the Legon Cities Chief scout hinted the Accra based club are only focusing on building top class team that can Gel and compete on the highest level for some time to come.

” I don’t see legon Cities performing badly at all, we have played just 6 matches so far, just a single win can push you up” Paintsil said

” We’ve got great talents, the players respect themselves and they are hungry to achieve great things”

” We are privileged to have Asamoah Gyan in our team, his impact alone can motivate most of the players”

” Gyan is still young to play good football, I’m older than him and I can play a 90mins football, why not Gyan? “

” Our plan is to give him few match fitness in the first round of the league , and we hope he will start firing in the second round”

” Legon Cities wants to grow so that the players can have the same chemistry in the team”

The 3 times world cup winner wants the current Ghana U20 side, the Black satellites to maintained in order to feed the senior national football team the Black stars

Paintsil had a one year stinct with South African outfit , Kaiser Chiefs as an assistant coach before joining Legon cities as a chief scout and management member
