Although no official communication has come from the Ghana Health Service or Ministry of Health, there has been reports that there is a case of monkeypox recorded in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.
A man is showing signs and symptoms of the re-emerging disease but samples have been sent to the lab for tests.
