Ewes cannot breath because of Akufo-Addo’s intimidation– Fifi Kwetey

MP for Ketu South, Fifi Kwetey says Ewes cannot breathe due to the intimidation by President Akufo-Addo.

His comments comes on the back of military deployment into the border towns of the Volta region ahead of the commencement of the voters’ registration exercise.

The MP who was addressing a press briefing by the NDC in the Volta Region said all the intimidations will cease after the December polls.

According to him, the explanation provided by the government for the deployment of the military into the area is flimsy and ridiculous.

Fifi Kwetey said Togo should rather be the one preventing Ghanaians from entering their country because our cases have passed that of Togo.

Case record from neighbouring countries: Burkina Faso- 941 cases, 826 recoveries, 53 dead and 35 active cases. Ivory Coast: 8,944 cases, 3,587 recoveries, 64 dead and 5,293 active cases. Togo: 615 cases, 395 recoveries, dead 66 and 154 active cases.

The Ketu South MP said the exercise by the government is to intimidate members of the NDC from registering for the new voter ID.

Government has also said the move is to prevent foreigners from entering into the country to take part in the registration exercise.

NDC has given the government up to Tuesday, June 30 to withdraw the military from the Region.

MP for Ho West Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah said the NDC will proceed to take further actions should the government fail to comply.
