EC snubs coronavirus fears says new voters’ register will still be done

The Electoral Commission has stated unequivocally that it will still go ahead to compile new voters register despite fears over coronavirus.

The commission disclosed this in a statement and added that, it will put in place the necessary measures to protect their staff and the public during the exercise.

Ghana has confirmed 7 cases of the novel coronavirus, Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced on tuesady March 18, 2020.

It comes days after four additional cases were confirmed Sunday after the initial two that were recorded last Thursday.

So far, a total of 143 suspected cases have been tested for COVID-19 by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).
