Director of Floods at NADMO fears there will be more floods this year

Some parts of Accra are flooded following hours of rains.

Some of the areas worst affected are Adabraka, Kingsby Junction, Graphic Road, Agbgbloshie and surrounding areas.

Director of floods at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Mr Evans Anakwa has expressed worry over the floods caused by the rains that only lasted few hours.

He said in an interview with Kwame Sefa Kayi on Peace FM that the situation is worrying because it had not rained in a while and it was expected that a few hours of rain could not cause that kind of floods.

Mr Anakwa has attributed the constant floods in Accra to construction of buildings on drains. He has advised citizens to desist from that.
