Coronavirus: 13 doctors administering treatment have tested positive – GMA
The Ashanti Regional Chairperson of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Paa Kwesi Baidoo has disclosed that 13 doctors in the country have tested positive for the novel Corona virus.
He said the doctors contracted the virus while administering treatment to infected patients.
“About thirteen doctors have been infected on the job as of Wednesday. We shouldn’t joke with this virus. Some people think it’s a joke or because Ghanaians are not dying we have some favour. The two-week lockdown helped us trace contacts and most of the people are in the younger age group. Of 100 infected people in the country, 8 or 10 are in critical condition.”
Dr. Baidoo charged the public to adhere to all safety protocols to ensure they do not contract the virus.
Ghana has recorded 1,550 cases of the virus with 155 recoveries and 11 deaths.
