Asante-Akim North: NDC accuses NPP of registering minors

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Asante Akim North has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of registering minors in the just ended voters registration exercise.

According to the Communication Officer for the NDC in the area, Mr. Mashwood Seidu, the youth organizer of the NPP, Derrick Amoah started an agenda to register underage citizens from various communities in Agogo in the last three days of the elections.

The NDC also alleged that the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi convinced EC officials in one of the registration centres to allow kids to be registered.

According to the NDC, the Asante Akim North constituency is struggling to meet its 2016 total registered voters and there is an agenda by the MP and the NPP to manipulate their way through.

The leading opposition party is therefore cautioning minors not to allow themselves to be used by the NPP in the final phase of the exercise as the EC  wraps up the process with a mop-up exercise in its district offices.

Mr. Mashwood Seidu in concluding said the NPP has made it obvious that they are desperate because they can see Ghanaians are fed up with them.
