Akuapem Poloo sentenced to jail for 3 months

An Accra High court has today sentenced actress and social media personality, Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem poloo to jail for 90 days.
The actress was found guilty for publishing nude photos of herself and her son on social media.
The judge, Christina Cann, bemoaned the spate of nudity on Ghanaian social media space.
According to her, the punishment meted out to Rosemond Brown must serve as a deterrent to others.
The complainant in the case was Bright Appiah, who is the Director of Child Rights International Ghana.
He petitioned the police after the photo went viral on social media, and the matter was referred to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU).
What Happened?
Akuapem Poloo celebrated her son’s seventh birthday on June 30 this year by taking nude pictures together with her son who was also half-naked. She then posted the pictures on her Instagram page which went viral on social media.
