Akuapem Poloo granted bail

Ghanaian Actress, Rosemond Alade Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, has been granted bail by the Criminal Court 2 Division of the High Court following an appeal filed by her lawyer against her 90-day sentencing by an Accra Circuit Court.

The bail was granted pending hearing on the appeal filed on Monday, April 19.

Akuapem poloo was sentenced to jail for 90 days after she was convicted of sharing nude pictures of herself and her seven-year-old son in June last year.

What happened?

An Accra High Court on Friday, 16th April, 2021 sentenced actress and social media personality Akuapem Poloo after she was convicted for publishing nude photos of herself and her son on social media.

Poloo’s conviction comes after she shared a naked picture with her son on Instagram celebrating his seventh birthday.

Poloo was convicted last Wednesday, April 14 2021 but sentencing was deferred to allow her undergo a Pregnancy test.

Appeal by her lawyers

Lawyers of Akuapem Poloo filed an appeal over the court’s 90 days sentence on Monday, April 19 2021.

Saltfmonline.com gathered her lawyers also filed for a stay of a sentence as the appeal application is being heard.

Celebrities beg for mercy for Poloo

Several celebrities including Cardi B, Tonto Dikeh, Sarkodie have all described as harsh the court’s decision to sentence Akuapem Poloo to jail for 90-days.

According to them, the court could have delivered a custodian sentence instead of the jail term.
