Agogo world wide Association has donated a multi-purpose wheelchair valued at GhC 12,000 and an amount of GhC 10,000 to a physically challenged man in Agogo.
The beneficiary whose name has been given as Stephen Amponsah received support from the union made up of natives of Agogo living all over the world.
Following a video of Mr Amponsah soliciting for help for his upkeep and that of his family on Social Media, The Agogo Worldwide Association which has branches in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Worcester, Virginia amongst other states decided to step in and offer their support to the 45-year-old.
Presenting the wheelchair and a fully stocked provision shop to Mr Amponsah, Mr Samuel Anyang-Kusi, a onetime President of the Association and the current Patron, said the association was so touched by the video of Mr Amponsah, so they decided to organize and raise funds to rent a shop and stock it with goods worth GhC10,000 cedis with the hope that, such a gesture will ease his burden. He therefore asked Mr Amponsah to be an example to the community and show appreciation to the union for their support for him and the entire Agogoman.
On his part, Stephen Amponsah expressed his gratitude to the union and all of its members. He promised to make good use of the opportunity given to him and his family.
