Agogo: We spend a lot to clean the city so stop littering – MCE urges residents

The Municipal Chief Executive of Asante Akyem North, Hon Francis Oti Boateng has admonished residents of the municipality especially traders in the Agogo market and other markets to desist from littering the community.

He said the municipal assembly spends huge sums to clean the filth in the municipality.

He made this remarks in an interview with Akwasi Boaduah on Anopa Bosuo which airs every weekday at 7am on Salt 95.9 FM.

According to him, despite the tireless effort by the assembly to clean the city of filth, there continues to be a lot that has to be done because residents continue to litter.

“The assembly is doing so much to keep the municipality clean; we are spending so much on garbage collection and cleaning. Please help us keep the Agogo and its environs clean to avoid the spread of diseases” he explained.

Though he did not quote the exact amount the assembly spends on keeping the municipality clean, he sounded very worried about the amount channeled into cleaning.

The MCE has initiated and completed several projects within the Asante Akyem Municipality including the relocation of several dumping sites thus the call for his retainment by the indigenes.

Hon. Francis Oti Boateng was honoured for his benevolence, good governance and immense contribution towards the development of Asante Akyem North particularly Agogo by the Omanhene of the Agogo traditional area Nana Akuoko Sarpong during the 45th celebration of the plantain festival early this year.
