6,000 samples taken for testing throughout the country – GHS
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has disclosed that it is currently testing 6000 samples taken from people believed to have come in contact with infected persons.
According to the service, the samples were taking across the country as of April 2 at 6pm.
The Director-General of the GHS, Dr. Patrick Aboagye, said some 300 teams are carrying out a contract tracing and enhanced testing exercise to identify persons who may have come into contact with a Coronavirus infected person.
“As at 6pm yesterday, over 6,000 samples had been taken for testing throughout the country and testing is still ongoing. We’re testing all people who have been identified through contact-tracing,” Patrick Aboagye disclosed this in a press briefing on Friday, April 3.
On April 2, 2020, Ghana recorded 9 new cases of coronavirus – shooting the number of cases from 195 to 204.
